Ashland Parks & Recreation Commission (APRC)

The Ashland Park Commission (PC) is overseen by five elected Commissioners. In 1908, the City of Ashland set aside property for parkland, authorized a permanent tax levy to fund Parks, and established the first Commission. (See Article 19, Section 3 of the City Charter (PDF).) The mission of the APRC is to provide and promote recreational opportunities and to preserve and maintain public lands.
The Commissioners hold their regular business meetings on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 6 PM in Council Chamber. Study Sessions are typically held on the 1st Wednesday of the month also in Council Chamber (check the City website's meeting calendar for specific dates). The public may submit written testimony for inclusion in the public record. Alternatively, oral testimony may be taken during the public meeting. PC Regular Business meetings are broadcast live on RVTV. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, if you need special assistance to participate in a meeting, please contact Nancy Mero at nancy.mero@ashlandoregon.gov or 541-552-2256 (TTY phone number 800-735-2900. Notification 72 hours prior to the meeting will enable the City to make reasonable arrangements to ensure accessibility to the meeting (28CFR 35.102-35.104 ADA Title I). PC televised meetings will occur on channel 180 or 181 for Charter subscribers. Ashland TV subscribers can continue viewing PC meetings on channel 9.
The PC has the power to adopt by-laws, rules, and regulations for the proper conduct of public recreation in the City. The PC coordinates recreational facilities now within the City, or hereafter to be constructed or created. The Commission shall have the power to conduct any form of recreation or cultural activity that will employ the leisure time of the people of Ashland and vicinity in a constructive and wholesome manner.
Agendas are typically available by Thursday the week prior to a meeting. Minutes are available following approval.

- Recreation Division Advisory Committee (RDAC)
- Trails Advisory Committee (TAC)
