Celebrate fall at the Bear Creek Salmon Festival on Saturday October 12, 11am-4pm at North Mountain Park in Ashland.
With a focus on watershed health and stewardship, families will enjoy games, crafts, spin-casting, a giant salmon tent, and live fish. Bring the whole family to enjoy live entertainment at the Nature Center pavilion and dance to the folksy sounds of McAlvage and Fretwell in the morning or boogie to lively jazz with the Bathtub Gin Serenaders in the afternoon. Wander down to the amphitheater to enjoy Native American cultural demonstrations including traditional salmon cooking and acorn processing.
Rogue Food Unites will offer healthy snacks at the Nature Play Area, while Fatso’s Cheketos offers gluten-free lunch options at the Nature Center. Exhibitors will share education about our local watersheds, native salmon, and how we can help support a healthy ecosystem in our own communities.
This is a Zero-Waste event with no waste created by food containers or water bottles, instead using only reusable dishes from the Lend Me a Plate project. Join the Zero-Waste effort by bringing your own water bottle.
Parking is limited, bikes are highly encouraged. For more information visit BearCreekSalmonFestival.net or contact the North Mountain Park Nature Center 541-488-6606.
