The City of Ashland is pleased to announce funding for the Ashland Low Income Energy Assistance Program (ALIEP), designed to help low-income residents cover their electric bills during the cold winter months, is back.
Eligibility for this program extends to Ashland residents whose income is at or below 65 percent of Oregon’s median income, determined by household income and size. Qualified recipients will receive a credit on their electric utility charges: seniors and disabled individuals can receive up to 50 percent off for up to six months, while other eligible residents may receive the same discount for up to three months. The maximum credit available is $300 for each group.
Starting October 1, 2024, applicants can apply by completing our online form and uploading their income verification. Alternatively, they can call 541.552.2038 to request a Low-Income Assistance application packet to be mailed to them. If you know someone who may qualify for this assistance, please share this information. The deadline to submit applications is January 31, 2025.
