[ARCHIVED] Ashland Parks and Recreation slowly reopens following the winter storm

UPDATE February 14: 

  • Winburn Way through Lithia Park will be open to traffic on Saturday, February 15.  Parking may be limited due to snow or debris.
  • Oak Knoll golf course driving range only, will have limited hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., beginning Saturday, February 15 through Monday, February 17.  Oak Knoll golf course and driving range will resume normal operating schedule on Tuesday, February 18.
  • Lithia pickleball courts will be closed until repairs can be made to the damaged fencing, estimated re-opening in early March.
  • All Ashland Parks and Recreation restroom facilities are open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • The Japanese Garden in Lithia Park has resumed normal operating hours beginning Friday, February 14.
  • Hunter Park Tennis Courts are open to the public; however, some courts still have snow on them and are not useable.
  • Little league field #2 at Hunter Park remains closed for repairs, estimated re-opening in early March.
  • Due to numerous down trees and snow, all trails in Siskiyou Mountain Park, Ashland Watershed and Hald Strawberry Park remain closed for the safety of the public.  Trails will re-open slowly after Parks staff have had time to assess and remove hazards.


ORIGINAL February 10: 

As of February 10, 2025, Ashland Parks & Recreation is gradually reopening parks and facilities after last week's winter storm. The storm caused downed trees and ice, leading to the temporary closure of all City parks due to unsafe conditions.

 Most parks and amenities have resumed their regular schedules. However, visitors are advised to proceed with caution, as some areas may still have downed trees or branches.

  The following closures remain in effect until further notice: 

  • Siskiyou Mountain Park
  • Hald Strawberry Park 
  • Ashland Watershed trails 
  • Ashland Japanese Garden in Lithia Park 
  • Hunter Park Tennis Courts 
  • Lithia Park Pickleball Courts 
  • Certain park restrooms
