The City of Ashland Citizens’ Budget Committee will hold their first public meeting on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 3 p.m. in Council Chambers. Subsequent meetings will take place on May 7 and May 14, 2025, at the same time and location.
At each meeting the Committee will discuss the City budget for the biennium July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2027. The meetings can be viewed on Spectrum Channel 180, livestreamed via RVTV (Rogue Valley Community Television) Prime or the RVTV APP at rvtv.sou.edu. The Council Chambers is located at 1175 E Main St for those who wish to attend in person.
The purpose of the meetings is for the Citizens’ Budget Committee to receive the budget message, gather public comment and hear presentations on the proposed budget, including the proposed tax rate. The Citizens’ Budget Committee is a fiscal advisory group to the Council, and its functions are established by Oregon budget law with ORS 294.414.
These public meetings are where the Committee will deliberate on the budget. Anyone may attend and discuss the proposed programs with the Committee. If you wish to provide testimony electronically, please send an email by 10 a.m. on Wednesday, on the day of the meeting, with the subject line “Date of meeting – Virtual Testimony Request.” Please include your full name, email address, and whether or not you are an Ashland resident. Once this information is received, instructions will be sent to you.
Written testimony will also be accepted via email with the subject line, “Date of meeting - Written Testimony.” Written testimony received by 10 a.m. on the day of the meeting will be provided to the Citizens’ Budget Committee before the meeting and will be included in the meeting minutes.
Public Hearing and Budget Review Information
- Once scheduled budget presentations have concluded, a public hearing will be held giving citizens another opportunity to discuss proposed programs and funding.
- A copy of the proposed budget document will be available for review on the City’s website ashlandoregon.gov no later than April 30, 2025.
