Fire Season starts June 1, 2025

• The Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) Southwest Oregon District will officially declare the start of fire season on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at 12:01 a.m. The fire danger level will be “Low” (green), and the Industrial Fire Precaution Level (IFPL) will be I (one). Weed Abatement 

• The City of Ashland's Weed Abatement program is in full swing. Property owners must comply by June 1, 2025. Details at ashlandoregon.gov/WeedAbatement.

Take Action: Better Prepared Wildfire Series

• Only one event remains in this FREE series designed to help residents prepare for wildfire. Recordings of past sessions are available online. This series is a collaboration between Ashland.news, Ashland Climate Collaborative, Ashland Together, and the City of Ashland.

Have Your Say: CWPP & Wildfire Surveys 

• The public comment period for the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) is open through June 2, 2025. Your input is vital to building a fire-adapted Ashland.
• The City is also promoting two wildfire-related surveys. Southern Oregon residents are encouraged to share their insights on wildfire preparedness and community values.
