ORIGINAL August 8, 2025: Temperatures in Ashland are expected to exceed 95°F beginning Sunday, August 10, and continuing into next week. In response, cooling centers will be open at the following times and locations:
Cooling Center Locations & Hours
- Sunday, August 10
- 9 a.m. to Noon and from 5 to 7 p.m.
- Ashland Public Library (downstairs), 410 Siskiyou Boulevard.
- Monday, August 11 and Tuesday, August 12
- Noon to 7 p.m.
- Trinity Episcopal Church, 44 N 2nd Street in Ashland
These spaces will be managed by local volunteers and coordinated by Avram Sacks and Southern Oregon Jobs for Justice. For more information call 541-220-7307 or email.

- Drink plenty of fluids.
- Stay in an air-conditioned room if possible.
- Avoid direct sunlight.
- Check on relatives and neighbors.

Cool off in a City Park
Ashland offers 19 parks and over 600 acres of open space with shady spots and water activities:
- Swim Reservoir in Lithia Park: Fed by Ashland Creek.
- Wading Area in Lithia Park: Near the children’s playground.
- Splash Pad in Garfield Park.
- Daniel Meyer Pool in Hunter Park.
