ORIGINAL August 11, 2025: The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for gusty winds and low humidity for Tuesday, August 12, between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.
A Fire Weather Watch will be in effect on Wednesday, August 13, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. for gusty winds and low humidity.
An Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect through Wednesday, August 13, 2 a.m.
The City highly encourages everyone, and especially those people who live close to wildland areas, to do the following:

A Red Flag Warning is issued when we identify weather conditions that promote rapid spread of fire which may become life-threatening. This does not mean there is a fire. These conditions are either occurring now or will begin soon. It is important to have multiple ways to receive information from authorities.
A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are possible during the valid watch time. These conditions could promote the rapid spread of wildfires which could become life-threatening. Check weather.gov/medford for forecast updates and a possible upgrade of the this watch to a Red Flag Warning.
