We’re excited to welcome you to Ashland Fire & Rescue’s upcoming Open House on Friday, October 10, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Fire Station No. 2 (1860 Ashland Street).
As part of Fire Prevention Week, this event is a great opportunity to connect face-to-face with your local firefighters and EMS (emergency medical service) providers and learn how we work together to keep our community safe. You’ll get behind-the-scenes tours of the station, check out our fire engines and ambulances and explore topics like wildfire risk reduction, home fire safety, Smokewise and emergency preparedness.
This year’s Fire Prevention theme, “Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home,” highlights the importance of safely using, charging and recycling lithium-ion batteries. These high energy density batteries power many everyday devices, but they can pose serious fire risks if not handled properly. Practicing proper battery safety is essential for preventing fires and protecting the environment from harmful materials. We can’t wait to tell you more!
Come by anytime between 2 and 6 p.m. The station bay doors will be open! Parking is available on surrounding streets, but we recommend walking or biking if you can.
We look forward to seeing you there. Learn more at ashland.or.us/Fire, because We are Better Together!
