The fire danger level in the City of Ashland decreases to “LOW” (green) on October 10th, 2025 at 12:00 a.m. and restrictions on the use of gas-powered 
machinery in areas of dry vegetation will be removed. Fire season is still active, and fire danger can increase in just a couple days of hot and dry weather. Wildfires can threaten at any time, is your home prepared for wildfire?
The following restrictions are still in effect inside the Ashland City Limits
- No debris burning, including piles and debris burned in burn barrels!
- Smoking while traveling will only be allowed in enclosed vehicles on improved roads, in boats on the water and other specifically designated locations.
- Any electric fence controllers must be approved by a nationally recognized testing laboratory, such as Underwriters Laboratories Inc., or be certified by the Department of Consumer and Business Services and be installed and used in compliance with the fence controller’s instructions for fire safe operation.
The following fire restrictions are in effect throughout the City of Ashland on all properties, at all times of the year:
- Fireworks and sky lanterns are prohibited throughout the year within the City of Ashland
What is now allowed under LOW Fire Danger?
- Backyard fires contained in an approved fire appliance with spark arresting screening in place.
- All operation of gas-powered machinery such as mowers and saws in areas of dry vegetation without restrictions on hours of use.
