Beginning this morning, Tuesday, May 28, Ashland Forest Resiliency is managing a controlled burn in the Horn Gap area near Panther Peak. Using prescribed fire is an important tool for strategically reducing fuels in key areas for improving wildfire risk in the watershed, source of our town's drinking water.
Smoke is not likely to impact town. No Candies, Horn Gap and Rickety Trails may have some smoke. You will see smoke from operations and, Lithia Loop Road could be impacted by drifting smoke.
Please use this link to view the project map. Thank you for your continued patience as we complete these strategic burns for reducing community wildfire risk reduction.
