Today, July 30, from 2 to 11 p.m., the National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for lightning storms that could ignite fires in our area, similar to what we saw recently with the storms that ignited the Neil Creek Fire and Pompadour Fire earlier this month. The City highly encourages everyone, and especially those people who live close to wildland areas, to have go-bags packed, vehicles fueled and stay in communication with family members. An evacuation could happen at a moment’s notice due to a new lightning fire, so being prepared is essential. More on emergency preparedness at ashlandoregon.gov/BetterPrepared. We are Better Together!
