Ashland’s Tree of the Year for 2025 has been selected! The winning tree is the towering sequoia redwood located at 1282 Old Willow. Each year, Ashland residents nominate and vote for a tree that represents the community’s appreciation for nature and local character.
The Tree Management Advisory Committee reviewed this year’s nominations and presented four finalists. After voting closed on July 31, the redwood emerged as the community favorite.

Ashland has celebrated its Tree of the Year since 1988 (with the exception of 2016), recognizing trees that hold special meaning for residents and contribute to the city’s unique urban forest.
