At the Ashland City Council Business Meeting on August 20, 2024, Sabrina Cotta was officially appointed as City Manager. Cotta, who has been serving as Acting City Manager since October 2023 following the resignation of former City Manager Joseph Lessard, was formally designated Interim City Manager by the Council in February 2024.
Cotta joined the City in March 2022 as Deputy City Manager, relocating from Colorado. During a period of staffing shortages, she took on additional responsibilities as Interim Finance Director and Interim Human Resources Director.
With over 15 years of public sector experience, Cotta holds a Master of Public Administration and Master of Political Science degrees and has taught Public Policy at the University of Arizona. She also maintains several professional affiliations. Cotta expressed her gratitude for the support she has received, stating, “I appreciate the support of the Mayor, the Council, the community, and City staff as I make this transition. I am proud to work with such an amazing team in this wonderful community.”
