The National Weather Service has issued a RED FLAG WARNING for the mountains around Ashland and the southern end of the valley, including Ashland, from 8 p.m. tonight through Tuesday, October 1, at 11 a.m. A Red Flag Warning is issued when weather conditions occur that can promote rapid spread of wildfire, which may become life-threatening. This does not mean there is a fire. Details on the forecast can be found at weather.gov/mfr/.
Stay prepared for emergencies by knowing your evacuation zone, signing up for alerts and packing a Go Bag. For more information, including information on current fire restrictions, visit ashlandoregon.gov/BetterPrepared. We encourage citizens to keep cell phones charged and available during Red Flag Warning hours.
Updates will be posted on this site. Remember, “We are Better Together!”
