Attention Ashland residents and visitors: We have received numerous reports of aggressive deer, likely due to protective does fawning in the area. These deer are particularly targeting people walking their dogs.
Recent Incidents this Week:
- Thursday, 10:20 AM: Deer displaying aggressive foot stomping and not backing away.
- Wednesday, 11:15 AM: Deer chased a person and their dog.
- Tuesday, 2:00 PM: Deer charged at a dog, and a woman had to throw objects to fend it off.
- June 11, 7:20 AM: Deer followed and pawed at a dog until the owner moved away.
Safety Tips:
- Be vigilant when walking dogs.
- Keep dogs on a short leash.
- Avoid areas where deer have been sighted.
- If a deer approaches, try to stay calm, make yourself look larger, and slowly back away.
