The Ashland Municipal Court offers a diversion program for both MIP Alcohol and Marijuana violations. The program is designed to keep a conviction for a MIP offense off of your record. A conviction for MIP will result in the suspension of your driving privileges for up to one (1) year per ORS 809.260.
The requirements for the MIP Diversion program are as follows:
- You have not had any previous MIP alcohol or marijuana convictions.
- You have not previously participated in another MIP program to keep a conviction off of your record.
- You do not have or plan to obtain a medical marijuana card in any state.
Other restrictions may apply. Please contact the Court for further information and to apply for this program.
If approved for the MIP program you will have six (6) months to complete the following:
- Pay the $200.00 Program fee to the Court. SOU students will have the option to complete ten (10) hours of community service with SOU in lieu of $100.00.
- Complete the online alcohol or marijuana class through 3rd Millennium.
If all conditions are completed successfully within the six (6) month period, your citation will be dismissed.
