Pioneer Hall
Pioneer Hall was built in 1921 by G.S. Butler as a log memorial to his mother, Mrs. A. Butler Thompson, intended as a gathering place for Jackson County pioneers and the Native Sons and Daughters. From the beginning, the American Legion Post 14 assumed full responsibility for the Hall, caring for the building and grounds, handling maintenance, repairs, and improvements for over six decades.
In 1986, after 65 years of stewardship, the Legion returned management to the City of Ashland, which assumed responsibility for upkeep, utilities, and insurance. Pioneer Hall continues to serve as a historic community space and an enduring part of Ashland’s heritage.
