Learn about the Classification & Compensation Study

The City’s last classification and compensation study was conducted between 2008 and 2010. As part of the City Council’s commitment to maintaining a competitive and equitable workplace, funding for a new study was included in the 2023/2025 Biennium Budget. In May 2024, the City partnered with McGrath Human Resources Group to conduct a comprehensive review of employee classifications, compensation, benefits and job descriptions across all union and non-represented groups. This study supports the City's goal of becoming an employer of choice by ensuring internal equity, market competitiveness and a consistent, transparent framework for classification, promotion and negotiation.

The City is an Equal Opportunity Employer

The City will not discriminate against an employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, marital status, national origin, mental or physical disability, or any other status protected under federal, state or local law unless based on a bonafide occupational qualification.
